FOLLOW UP TO THE PRESENTATION By Andy Zito Thanks to Jeannie for her excellent questions. Especially regarding the content of future movie-games and Machinima. I reflected on this and wanted to add some follow up thoughts and suggestions of how this content might take shape. Interactive movies, Cinegames or Machinima can in the future have the content, very easily, of current reality based events or as follow ups to just released major films. Here are several examples: 1. A Lara Croft mini-adventure or alternate-scenario Final Fantasy, or any number of other major film releases could also be presented as cinegame follow ups online. They could be part of a survey feedback - promotion or a subscription format. 2. Then, also there could be a variety of reality based interactive movies online like the Restaurant Which would be a promotional tool for American Express and their finacial services. First or following an invitation to simply fill out an application for a credit card, financial services or a survey would then follow with access to a cinegame, if you will. Characters would be Rocco, the chef/owner of Roccos, his Mother, Manager, Maitre de, chefs and staff on one side, against a host of nasty characters on the other side from his seemingly evil partner out to take over the restaurant from Roccos control. This could be part of a series of interactive mini-movies that the American Express Business card could be linked with and sponsoring. 3. Another area of content could be product driven. BMW might have a follow up to their online movies and have an interactive game as a road race with some kind of heroic or maleficent outcome decided by the drivers performance. A survey of the participants driving habits might accompany this for follow up or marketing data. 4. CNN could
have a subscription based model of current news events driven content-interactive
games. It could be part of or as a reward for signing up for the subscription
of news events, that would include being able to participate in these
online cinegames. Some character driven scenarios might be a tornado
involving saving lives and joining families back together, looting and
their consequences and the obvious.. escaping debri part. Sorry for all of
the commercialism included in this but I figure, Hey!, somebody is either
going to have to pay for these interactive movies, or they will inevitably
be linked to various marketing and promotional campaigns. After all,
this is usually the way new ventures are propelled forward, isn't it? Best to all, Andy Zito - Leader of the Film Team |
